Idea + Resources – Intimidation = The Shipley Center (Student Startups + Regional Advancement)
Everyone has ideas, but knowing what to do with a good one can be tricky. Enter the Shipley Center for Innovation, a discovery-driven entrepreneurial support hub that can take your idea and make it a reality. Through a collaborative hands-on process, the Shipley Center brings academic and social experience together under one roof, providing inventors and entrepreneurs with the ability to fully commercialize their products, connect with potential investors and utilize Clarkson University faculty and student resources to bring their ideas to life.
“The Shipley Center is a collision of everything," says Executive Director Matthew Draper. "From the time innovators come to us to the time we release their vision, we help manage the entire process, serving as communicators and project managers."
Draper’s dedication has built an extensive network within the North Country region that Shipley Center innovators can access directly by pulling on a wealth of exclusive knowledge from local practitioners and businesses to patent ideas, build prototypes and connect with like-minded partners and prospective backers.
